Day 2!

Today was another busy day for the Tamagawa students!  Our morning topic was "Parents' and Grandparents' Early Life" where the students talked about where in Japan their families were from and what kind of work they did.  We learned that many of these students' ancestors grew cherries, blueberries, apples, flowers, and rice, made extracts, and lived in the countryside, or inaka

We then moved into our classroom activities, where we discussed prairie life and the frontier and nouns and pronouns.  The students are split into two groups, and they have chosen "The Cupcakes" and "The Rice Bowls" as their group names.

In the afternoon, we visited Historic Prairie Village (http://www.prairievillage.org/), and the students learned what life in America was like nearly 150 years ago.

Here are a few great shots from our day.  Enjoy!
